WebbIn order to deliver 5G, the telecommunications industry is developing a new network of small wireless communication facilities that are installed on existing or new utility poles in the right-of-way, next to streets and roads. These new wireless communication facilities are called “small cells”. WebbAct 50 of 2024. Legislation providing for the deployment of small cell wireless facilities has passed both the House and Senate and was signed by the Governor on June 30 as Act 50 of 2024. The Act, considered the gold standard as the most municipal friendly small cell legislation in the country, is a win for local governments in the Commonwealth.
