We have a furnace with aluminum filters which we regularly cleaned in our old dishwasher each year, by simply lifting out the upper rack and inserting the filters for washing. We replaced that dishwasher with a GE GSD5620 a short while back. It appears that the upper rack of this model is not designed to lift out.
